“ Satisfy your meat cravings here! There's no parking lot, just the usual street parking in downtown SJ. It was surprisingly not as busy on a Friday evening, but there was definitely Oktoberfest festivities in the outdoor seating area. I liked the decor and the vibes felt intimate, but casual as well. We started off with half a liter of the Paulaner Oktoberfest each and the Sausage Combination Platte. The sausage platte was honestly my favorite with four different sausages (polish sausage, bavarian bratwurst, knackwurst, swiss bockwurst). Each were juicy and bursting with different flavors and spices. 10/10 - Schweinshaxe mit Kartoffelsalat und Sauerkraut (baked pork shank with potato salad and sauerkraut): It took awhile for the dish to come out since they needed to bake the crispy pork skin. The meat was easily pulled off with my fork, but some parts of the meat were dry and some juicy. The potato salad and sauerkraut were delicious and brought extra flavors to the pork. 8/10 - Jägerschnitzel mit unserer speziellen Pilzsoße und Hausegemachte Spätzle (breaded pork cutlet with a white wine mushroom sauce served with homemade noodle): The cutlet was crispy on the outside and tender inside. The sauce was light and umami. The noodle texture wasn't to my preferences. 8/10 - Apple Strudel: Flaky crust with a soft and sweet apple filling. Solid strudel. 9/10 - Black Forest cake (not pictured): One of the best cakes I've had. Super moist with a cherry filling and light whipped cream frosting. The cherries didn't taste fake, but balanced with the chocolate. The cake just melts in your mouth and we were sad there was only one slice. 10/10 ”

“ The portion sizes are generous; you get what you pay for. The pear salad was very nice, exceeding my expectations. The heirloom tomatoes were also very good, though I wish they had given us four! Everything else we ordered was well-made and flavorful. The environment is cool, with old-style dining decor and a nice bar. Good service overall. ”

“ We went here for my birthday dinner. It's located in a quiet area near downtown San Jose and boasts a large outdoor patio. Inside there is a full bar and very friendly staff. We ordered a large array of dishes- mine being the pork knuckle. We found all the food to be tasty. I especially enjoyed the bockwurst, bavarian cream and my roy rogers (vodka added). The music was LOUD but very fun, and they even sang happy birthday to me. Honestly I have had German food that I enjoyed more at other places but the ambience here can't be beat! The prices were fair and we look forward to returning! ”

“ Absolutely love the vibe here. The restaurant part is hidden behind the bar and it was a lot bigger than I expected. I used to order from these guys a lot during the pandemic days, this was my first actual trip here. Parking on the street was easy, right next to the restaurant. Had the wurst platter and enjoyed everything except for the potato salad. Should've changed it to fries. My buddy had the jaegar schnitzel, super tasty as well. It was not greasy like some other German restaurants. Nice waiter who was attentive and efficient. Highly recommend the place. ”

“ Came here with my partner for dinner on a weekday. It was quite empty and even parking was easy to find considering we went on a Wednesday. They have only one vegetarian item on their menu. Considering their menu is very small, I was okay with the one option - Vegetarian strudel. And thankfully the dish was delicious and hearty. My partner got the breaded veil cutlet. He liked it initially but later felt it was a little hard to chew on. We also got peppermint schnapps on the side - this was yumm, had a nice kick to it. Ended our meal with the bee sting cake which was extremely delicious and decadent. We wanted to take another piece as to-go but calories. The dishes are on the expensive side but at least the service was quick. Will come again just for the dessert and schnapps. ”
